How Task Optimist handles data.
Effective date: March 27, 2026
Information we collect
- Account details used for sign-in, such as email address, user id, and authentication provider metadata.
- Content you create in the app, including projects, tasks, schedules, selected locations, and feedback submissions.
- Technical and diagnostic information such as crash reports, app version, platform, and error logs.
- Local app preferences and cached data stored on your device.
Location and weather features
Task Optimist supports manually searched and saved locations. If you use those features, selected location details such as place name, address, latitude, longitude, radius, and viewport metadata may be stored with your planning data.
If you use weather-related planning features, relevant coordinates may be sent to third-party providers to retrieve forecast information.
How we use information
- Authenticate your account and keep your data tied to the correct user.
- Save and sync projects, tasks, scheduling information, and selected locations.
- Provide weather and place lookup features.
- Diagnose crashes, bugs, abuse, and service issues.
- Respond to support and feedback requests.
Third-party services
Task Optimist currently relies on services including Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Firebase Crashlytics, Google Places, and Open-Meteo.
Those providers may process data as needed to deliver their part of the service.
Sharing, retention, and deletion
Task Optimist does not sell personal data and does not currently use third-party advertising SDKs. Data is shared with service providers only where needed to run the app.
Account and app content data is kept while your account remains active unless deletion is requested or retention is required for system integrity, fraud prevention, backups, or legal compliance.
